Smythe Robotics Team Visits Google HQ

On Nov. 11, the robotics team at Smythe Academy Middle School competed with 13 other Northern California schools in a regional FIRST Robotics Competition hosted by Google at their headquarters in Mountain View, CA.

Smythe science teacher, Miguel Moreno, accompanied the team and said that the team had been invited to Google because they had won the award for Core Values at the FIRST Lego League Competition at Napa in 2016.

"Our robotics team excelled in core values and presentations," said Moreno. "They showed their ability to compete and still cooperate with other teams and with each other as well."

The Smythe team, as well as other robotics teams throughout the district, will compete at various locations in the coming weeks.
